Only candidates with hands-on, commercial Bitcoin mining experience will be considered.

About the Role

Our client, a leading player in the Bitcoin mining space, is seeking a hands-on and technically proficient CTO / Data Centre Engineering Lead to oversee and optimise the operation of its mining centres across Europe and the Middle East.

This is a travel-intensive role with frequent site visits and on-the-ground involvement in infrastructure set-ups, troubleshooting, server maintenance, and team leadership. While the role is based in Dubai, we welcome applications from candidates globally who are willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Mining Operations: Manage and coordinate daily operations across all data centres to ensure optimal efficiency and uptime.

• Site Buildouts: Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to oversee the development of new mining sites.

• Server & Infrastructure Maintenance: Lead on maintenance, diagnostics, and rapid response troubleshooting to minimise downtime.

• Monitoring Team Leadership: Supervise and support the monitoring team to ensure prompt issue resolution and operational stability.

• Site Due Diligence: Conduct detailed assessments of potential mining sites, ensuring technical and regulatory suitability.

• Risk Management: Proactively identify operational risks and implement strategies for mitigation and emergency response.

Requirements

• Commercial Bitcoin Mining Experience (Essential)

• Hands-On Approach: Comfortable working directly with hardware, setting up and maintaining systems, and resolving technical issues on site.

• Flexibility to Travel: Willing and able to travel frequently across Europe and the Middle East.

• Relocation Readiness: Open to relocating to Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, manage operations, and drive performance under pressure.

• Technical Expertise:

• Deep understanding of ASIC hardware

• Experience with Bitcoin mining software (e.g. BFGMiner, Cudo Miner)

• Familiarity with Stratum V2 protocol

• Understanding of Proof of Transfer (PoX) consensus

• Integration experience with Stacks (STX)

• Proficiency with energy monitoring and efficiency tools

• Innovation-Driven: Able to stay ahead of industry developments and continuously adapt to emerging standards and protocols.
